No power and vibrating car!!!

HI

My brother has an S reg sri vectra which is playing up. He ssays when you put your foot down there is no power and it is vibrating and when you feather the pedal its a bit better but still not right! Anyone got any ideas I'd be very happy to help him out.

i had a similar problem i little tube fell out round the back of my engine it was a vac tube goin into some sort of valve went like the clappers after that

Could be a few things buddy , egr , lambda , airflow meter etc or as rozzer says could be a simple split vacuum pipe. Have a good look round the engine and check its nothing obvious and if that fails best get it plugged in to a diagnostic machine ;) Or have you ever heard of the paper clip test . If not google "vauxhall paperclip test" and there will be plenty to look up :D

sounds like the trouble i had with my corsa turned out to be the air flow meter... but it felt very sluggish and ticked over at higher revs
