Hi to all!
Just a reminder for the new site of our insurance scheme for forum users.
Chris Knott Insurance - http://www.chrisknott.co.uk - have been involved with car clubs for over 20 years so hopefully we'll understand your needs & requirements!
The scheme starts for ages 22 and over for Comprehensive cover, & 19 and over for TPF&T cover, and you must have at least 1 year's NCB (unless you have NCB on a second car or a company car letter to state at least 1 year's claim free driving).
All drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 1 year, and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that, or similar performance cars. Unfortunately, the scheme is not competitive on all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes and excludes Northern Ireland.
I'll view the site regularly and try to answer any queries that you have.
In the meantime, please feel free to call the New Business Team when you receive your renewal through. A dedicated team, with years of experience, is waiting for your call!
(I personally don't do the quotes).
0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 & please don't forget to quote 'reference 766 - ClubVS'!

Just to let you know that I'm away next week (20-24 July) & 24-28 August so if I'm a little tardy in replying, you'll know why!
Please continue to post your experiences on here. We've had a great year so far, taken on more staff - twice now (!) - and streamlined our system to cope better so it's good that we can help you!
One club actually complained that we had so much positive feedback/testimonials on our email, that it took them ages to open it!!!
When ringing for an insurance quote, please don't forget to quote the club name and/or reference number found either in my signature or in the original post of this thread.
Nice one :)
My insurance is due in January so I'll be phoning in 2010 :D

If we couldn't insure you, there will be a reason. There are certain parameters which the insurers give for people to qualify for the scheme & these can be found in my original post on this thread.

Hi Bert
I've posted this on that thread...........
Hi
Just been pointed out this post.
Personally, and I know it's not your fault, I wouldn't expect the scheme insurers to insure you if you've had 4 claims in 5 years.
I've been there years now & most insurers take the view that if someone has had maybe 2 or 3 claims, they are likely to have another one. I don't know where they get their logic from but I suppose it's from claim stats. Maybe once bitten, twice shy?
However, saying that, I don't think anyone in their right mind would laugh 'mockingly' because of this.
I'm not making excuses but the lady in question occasionally car-shares with me & she does have a 'nervous' laugh so to speak! Maybe that's the wrong word but it tends to be her reaction on certain issues.
I've previously passed on comments to her and she has been genuinely surprised if offence has been caused. It doesn't happen often but I've known her for 10 years & she is the same socially as well!
Please don't take it personally.

Remarkably, July was our 3rd best month EVER in terms of business!
Considering we have been going 26 years, that is great news especially in these days of the Credit Crunch.
The reason for this is due to the fact that users of this and other forums are insuring their cars with us, simple as that!
Therefore I'd like to thank all who have rung us & would encourage everyone to ring us anytime up to 14 days before their renewal date.
It's a freephone number so it won't cost you anything to call (though if calling by mobile, it may be better to call on 01580 752961).
You must have at least 1 year's NCB (unless you have NCB on a second car or a company car letter to state at least 1 year's claim free driving), and all drivers must have held a full UK licence for at least 1 year, and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that, or similar performance cars. Unfortunately, the scheme is not competitive on all M - Manchester, L - Liverpool, OL - Oldham & SK1-12 - Stockport postcodes and excludes Northern Ireland.
It's imperative you quote the Club name & reference number found either in my signature or my introductory post as the community of forum users is better statistically claims-wise than non-forum users – hence the reason why the premiums can be so much cheaper.
As previously mentioned, our average recorded saving for our new customers has been £60.02 in 2009 but of course many of them have seen bigger savings! (I read on one forum only this morning that we had saved one guy £200 off his BEST quote elsewhere!).
What have you got to lose?!
What about a very highly modified performance vauxhall tho? Will you insure that, im 27 years old

Yes, no problem!
Phoned them today... Beat my renewal by over £100 .. and lowered my excess by £250
Will def have a look around and if i cannot find beter will def use them :)
Its just the deposit that annoys me with any insurance company :(
Can you give me free insurance if i give you a mention in magazines if they decide to cover my motor as thorney said they would :D

IT'S WORTH RINGING US BECAUSE........
Well, after my post about August being the second busiest month of the year for car insurance renewals, we have in the last week recorded our BEST EVER income regarding providing insurance for forum users (and their families). That's in 26 years!
If your renewal is due in the next 21 days, please don't hesitate to give us a call on 0800 917 2274 or 01580 752961 if calling by mobile and PLEASE DON'T FORGET TO QUOTE THE CLUB NAME & REFERENCE NUMBER found in either my signature or my original post introducing the scheme!
Don't forget to check out the original thread stating minimum ages, etc, for the scheme.
Lose the need for a deposit thats 3 times the monthly payments and you might have another customer!!

It will never happen I'm afraid. They've had too many people default straight away - there are a lot of unscrupulous people out there! - so they have to cover themselves.

Back in the good ol days when the police couldnt tell straight away if you had insurance or not i would understand... But they can tell within a few minutes... and if someone defaults u should be ending their poilicy right away.
You were the cheapest.. and halfed my excess... but because the deposit was triple the monthly payments I couldnt do it at this time

I agree with you but people still do it. In fact, I watched a programme the other night saying they still do just this!

NEW IDEA!!!!!! WHAT DO YOU THINK?
We are looking at launching a system whereby, to get a quote from us, you have the option of sending your details by email to us and then we will contact you with the quote.
This would also assist those who can't get ring us during working hours or those who would just prefer to correspond through the forum.
My question is would this be helpful to you?
I'd appreciate your comments.

Money off with Chris Knott Insurance
If you’ve taken out cover with us here at Chris Knott Insurance, we’ve got some great news for you!
With at least one car already insured through us, we’re now giving you £10 OFF any extra cars you bring to us. That’s on top of any other savings we can achieve for you.
Simply call us FREE on 0800 917 2274* quoting reference CLI683 to claim £10 OFF the other cars in your household.
We‘ll still offer you our best deal but we’ll take an extra £10 OFF to thank you for your extra business.
There’s no limit to the number of cars you and your family members can bring to us and claim your £10 OFF, providing they are all registered to the same address.
If you’re not yet insured with us, this is a great reason to think about asking us for a quote.
Remember, just call 0800 917 2274* quoting the reference above to find out how much you could SAVE then ask us for your £10 OFF. You must quote the above reference to benefit. Watch this space for more great offers coming soon…
*For mobiles, try 01580 752961 - it’s not free but may work out cheaper. Discount offer applies to vehicles not currently insured through us. To claim your £10 OFF you must have at least one ‘live’ car policy with us at the time of claiming. Normal underwriting criteria apply. Not to be used in conjunction with any other offers.

Hi
A tip off!!!
The 'word on the street' is that premiums are 'hardening' meaning that they are going up.
HOWEVER.................
I was in the office yesterday & the New Business Manager told me that due to the success of our insurance scheme this year, the set targets each month have been upped by 25% remarkably! This started on 1/10/09.
Even though we have had a good month already, on reckoning it could be that we are just under the set target so he told me that premiums will be even cheaper for people who have renewal dates from now until 31/10/09 just so that these targets can be met!!!
The difficulty is that from now until February, there aren't as many people insuring cars.
My thought is that, because of these quieter months, the premiums will continue to be cheaper for those who have renewal dates for now, November, December, January & early February.
All I'd say is it's worth a call ESPECIALLY if your renewal date is within these months.
(My long-term thought is that if the insurers show a decent profit due to increased business but at lower premiums, then this will continue throughout next year but that is only me surmising!).

We've also now provided the option of emailing your quote details to us if you can't contact us by phone & the thread for that is found in an insurance section or my original post offering the scheme.
We are already way ahead in November based on previous years so I would encourage you to ring us (or email using the special template form only) when your car insurance renewal is due.
It really is a good time to ring us!
