how much brake fluid

i'm putting new discs and pads on at the weekend and i'm going to change out the brake fluid as well does anyone know how much i'll need to get and is the GM stuff ok to buy :)

for a full flus mate ideally 1-2ltrs is needed ..the full system only has capacity of around 500ml but the time its competely flushed/ bled etc.. maybe be left with a little but thats always handy!
