Hi All..

Ive got a problem that has me stumped!!

I've got a 2.0Dti 54Plate 40k, Last service in August at aprox 36-37k (Full service fuel filter etc)
The Glow Plugs were not changed.

In the past 2-3 weeks Ive noticed it is having trouble starting when Its been left at work for a few hours..

The car is parked on a slight hill.. nothing major just 5degrees ish.

It doesnt matter if its nose up or nose down.. still the same effect.

If the car is cold it will not start on the first turn and hold of the key.. even up to 10-15 turns of the engine. (15-20 seconds approx),

However it will start if i then try again after the 2nd or 3rd turn..

It never ever does this when parked on the flat at home.

It doesnt matter if its 20c or 11.5c outside.. its always the same.

Ive had a look around the leak off pipes.. theres no obv leaking.
GlowPlugs are not due to be replaced till 80k.
Ive tried turning on the ignition for 20 seconds before starting... even if the glowplug light does not come on..

There are no warning lights, and the car runs fine when running.

Has anyone got any ideas???

Sounds like a leak in the fuel system Dan causing air to get into the system , check the fuel filter housing ;)

Its on the bulkhead behind the engine between the coolant tank and abs pump

Is you air filter clear i.e no leaves or such stuck anywhere?
